Halloween Dress Up

Our Halloween Dress up day was a great success and thankfully the rain stayed away. The children looked frightfully good in their costumes and the huge smiles on their faces showed how happy they all were to be in school with the friends. Take a look at some of the spooktacular costumes below.

Remember we are closed for a week for midterm and will reopen on Monday 2nd November. The school books have been sent home as a precautionary measure as we do not know what the next week may bring. Please do not use them unless instructed by the class teacher to do so.

Stay safe and keep smiling boys and girls.

Fire Safety Week 5th-10th Oct

 Fire Safety Week

Fire Safety Week ran from the 5th -10th October . All classes could took part in a Fire Safety Poster Competition, where the winning entries were displayed around the school. Fire Safety is an extremely important subject and all children should know what to do in the event of a fire in the home. Always check your smoke alarm and have an escape plan in place. And remember ...
Get Out, Get the Fire Brigade Out and STAY OUT!!

Rainbow Day

As part of our Amber Flag initiative we were tasked with deciding on a fundraiser that would raise vital funds for Pieta to help them continue the amazing work they do supporting those suffering with  poor mental health.

Seeing as it was National Mental Health Awareness Day on the 10th October, the Amber Flag committee thought it would be a great idea to coincide with this date and do something that would lift everyone's mood and bring a bit of fun to the school.

Therefore we hosted our fantastic 'Rainbow Day' on the 9th October. We asked all the students and staff to come into school wearing their brightest coloured clothes and to each bring n €2.

We had such a fun day celebrating Rainbow Day. Ms Whelan, our principal, organised a 'socially distanced' disco on the yard where the children and staff got to let loose, forget all their worries and dance!

We were just amazed by not only the beautiful array of colours that came into the school but also by the generosity of our families who donated.

In total we raised €1235 for Pieta.

Thank you so much to everyone who contributed, you have made a real difference to someone's life. If you wish to find out more about the great work done by Pieta, visit: www.pieta.ie
