S.S. Peter & Paul's in Balbriggan celebrated World Book Day in style on Thursday, March 5th. There were lots of exciting activities taking place throughout the week to mark this special day. Pupils were invited to dress up as their favourite book character on Thursday. There was a fantastic response to this competition and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the wonderful costumes again this year. It was a very difficult decision but David in Mrs. Cleary's 1st class was deemed the overall winner as Paddington Bear. Katelyn in Ms. O'Brien's 2nd class received best runner-up prize as the Cat in the Hat. There were also new books, certificates and tokens for the most inventive and imaginative book characters in each class. The whole school downed tools and enjoyed DEAR- Drop Everything and Read at 11am. Pupils were encouraged to bring in their favourite book from home. A school writing competition was held for Senior Infants, 1st and 2nd classes. Some classes also visited Balbriggan library for a story telling session. Well done to all who took part in another successful World Book Day!
