Principal Christmas Message
🎄

Dear all,
As we head into the Christmas period we are thankful for the blessings we have received this year. We are very aware of the members of our Community who have suffered in one way or another due to this pandemic. Thank you to all our parents/guardians/children for abiding by
HSE guidance and school procedures at all times even when especially difficult. We ask that you continue to support the tremendous efforts being made by our staff in keeping our students / community safe and our school open.
Please remember:
 Keep children at home if they are unwell – “if in doubt, stay out”
 Wear a mask on school premises
 Practise social distancing and hand-hygiene
 Continue to follow guidance for self-isolation when required
 Keep the new school year in mind if meeting others from outside your household over the holiday period – follow all practices to limit the spread of Covid19 as much as possible.
 FOLLOW OUR STAGGERED ARRIVAL AND DISPERSAL TIMES and PROCEDURES –
Junior Infants and Senior Infants (except room 5) please use Pineridge gate (unless
siblings in 1st/2nd); 1st and 2nd classes and Room 5 – use Naul gate.

I hope every member of our school community has a peaceful and happy holiday break and we look forward to seeing everyone in the New Year!

Ms Whelan

Christmas Jumper Day Fundraiser

On Thursday the 17th December the students and staff dressed up in their festive Christmas jumpers and wore them into school to raise money for a local charity. We all understand how difficult 2020 has been for so many families in the locality so we love to help in any way we can.

We are delighted to say we raised €645 for the Balbriggan branch of St Vincent de Paul.

Thank you to all the families who contributed, it is greatly appreciated.

The whole school looked wonderful as each class showed off their Santa hats, Reindeer antlers and sparkly clothes. To further heighten the Christmas cheer at SS Peter and Paul JNS some of the classes sang Christmas carols outside. Take a look below at some of the wonderful jumpers on display and some wonderful singing by the first & second classes.

Santa and the Garda Band

Today was a very exciting day. The children, all dressed in Christmas jumpers, could not believe their eyes or ears when they heard the sound of sirens coming into the school yard today, who was it, only the Gardaí. Thankfully they weren't here to talk to any naughty boys or girls (as obviously we don't have any), but instead they brought a VERY special visitor.....SANTA!!!!

Santa Claus was here to check on all the children and to make sure they are all on his nice list, which I can confirm they most definitely are! Whilst he was here, we all had a lovely Christmas carol sessions and sang some of our favourite songs with the Garda Band, who played the saxophone and guitar. The teachers did a great job singing along and we think they might all be on Santa's nice list too.
It was a great day and put us all in a festive mood as we look forward to our Christmas holidays.

Happy Christmas everyone.

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus...in a Garda van!! 😲

Santa also remembered it was a very special day for one teacher as Ms Corkery celebrated her birthday today. She got the greatest present of all as Santa and the children all sang Happy Birthday to her. 😄

Positive Pebbles

Over the last few weeks the first class children have been working hard creating beautiful pebbles to go into our wellness area outside.

A BIG thank you to Ms O Regan, along with Ms Donnelly and Ms Mannion who scoured the beaches of North County Dublin and gathered up over one hundred rocks and hauled them into school.

Each first class painted the rocks white to begin with and then thought of their own design to paint onto the pebbles. There were some fantastic creations, with one painted "A Hug For You" in reference to Adam from The Late Late Toy Show. 😊

Once they were brightly painted Mrs Heffernan varnished them to keep them safe from the elements outside. Our fabulous caretaker, Pshemeck, then cemented them into the ground and Mrs Heffernan finished off the area by painting the cement and adding a few sparkly stars.

Take a look at all the wonderful designs below. They capture the mood of a VERY strange 2020, with their positive mental health messages. Hopefully in years to come we will look back at this year (and our pebbles) and remember how we all worked together to stay safe and protect our loved ones.
