Hall noticeboards

Hall Noticeboards

Every term our four hall noticeboards are decorated by a class. Once completed they make they school hall look bright and colouful. Make sure to pop over to take a look at the fantastic artwork.

This term the Junior Infant board has been decorated by Ms Feeney's class. They are all working hard like busy bees in Room 13 and so their art work reflected this.

The Senior Infant board was completed by Ms O Brien's Class. They each drew a picture of themselves.

The First Class board was completed by Ms Mannion's class who made an Autumn collage using different coloured shape paper.

And lastly, the Second Class board was designed by the boys and girls in Mrs Cummins' class. They created their own emojis. Don't they look fantastic!

Icecream Funday with Down Syndrome Ireland

In June of this year we hosted our first whole school Icecream Funday in aid of Down Syndrome Ireland. This week we received a lovely letter in the post from Down Syndrome Ireland, thanking us for raising the grand total of €918.60. It was a lovely school fundraiser and one which we would hope to continue every year. Thanks again to all who supported this great cause.

Lenten donations

Our school raised a fantastic €686 for Trócaire this year. A big thank you to everyone who returned their Trócaire boxes to the school, your generous support will help hard working communities in some of the poorest parts of the world. For more information on how your support is having a positive impact on people's lives, visit www.trocaire.org.

NUT FREE SCHOOL

Please remember that SS Peter and Paul JNS is a NUT FREE school therefore no items of food that contain nuts should be brought into school. Please check any food packaging that you send in with your child. We encourage a healthy lunch that contains fresh food with limited packaging. Please read our Healthy Eating Guidelines (see below) on suggestions for lunch ideas and also make note of prohibited foods that are not allowed in school. Thanking you in advance for your cooperation on this matter.

Tesco Community Fund

Great news, our school has been chosen as the recipient of Tesco Blue Tokens, where we could win up to €1000. Every time you shop in your local Tesco in Millfield shopping centre you'll receive a goodwill token which you can use to vote for the cause that means the most to you. We are asking all our families here at SS Peter and Paul to please choose our school when deciding where to place your blue token. Thank you.

Welcome Back!!!

Welcome back everyone to another school year. We hope you enjoyed the holidays and are well rested for a new school term. We would like to especially welcome all our new 112 junior infants and their families. They all look so happy and eager to learn. We hope all the boys and girls settle in well and make lots of new friends.

We have some new teachers joining our staff this year. In First Class we have Mrs McNamee (Rm 8) and in Second Class we have Mrs O Donnell (Rm 3).
We are also so happy to welcome back onto our staff Ms Ní Mhaonaigh (RM 11), who is back from her travels around the globe. They have all settled in very well.

Remember, if you have changed your contact details over the summer, could you please inform Jennifer, the school secretary, so she can update your child's file. Thank You.

You can keep up to date on all the events that occur in our school through the school website or alternatively follow us on Twitter @PeterandPaulJNS

Mr Donovan's Class Projects

The boys and girls in Room 3 have been very busy working on their individual end of year projects. Each one was so original and different. They spent a lot of time and effort researching their project and thinking about how they were going to present their work. Well done everyone, you all did a fantastic job. Take a look at the creativity and the imagination that went into their work.

Icecream Funday

Our Icecream Funday in aid of Down Syndrome Ireland was a great success. Our fantastic helpers, Yvonne, Jennifer, Fiona and Sínead, were flat out cutting up the blocks of ice cream and serving up the slices in wafers. The children really enjoyed their yummy treat, especially after all the games and activities they were doing for Active Week. Thank you to all who brought in the €2 contribution.  In total we managed to raise €918.60. Well done everyone, it will go towards a very worthy organisation.
