An Garda Siochána Open Day

An Garda Siochána Balbriggan Open Day will take place on Saturday 10th October from 1pm to 3pm. It's free entry and everyone is welcome.

GOAL Jersey Day

We are delighted to announce that our school will be taking part in GOAL Jersey Day on Friday 9th of October. The proceeds from our collection will go towards helping the Syrian refugee crisis. We have all been shocked and saddened by the recent upsetting images of the refugee plight in Southern Europe. We at S.S. Peter & Paul’s would like to try and do our bit to help these families in dire need. On Friday October 9th, all pupils will be invited to wear a jersey of their choice for the day. The suggested donation is €2 per child but if families feel they would like to donate more please do so. There will also be a small jewellery stand on the day with all items only €2 or less. Looking forward to a colourful and enjoyable day!

Tesco Community Fund

Great news, our school has been chosen as the recipient of Tesco Blue Tokens, where we could win up to €1000. Every time you shop in your local Tesco in Millfield shopping centre you'll receive a goodwill token which you can use to vote for the cause that means the most to you. We are asking all our families here at SS Peter and Paul to please choose our school when deciding where to place your blue token. Thank you.

Hall Noticeboards

Every term our four hall noticeboards are decorated by a class. This term the Junior Infant board has been decorated by Mr Donovan's Class. They made a beautiful owl display with the slogan "School is a Hoot". We're glad you think so boys and girls!!

The Senior Infant noticeboard was decorated by Ms Hickey's Class. They made bumble bees by sticking on black and yellow crepe paper and placed the heading "We BEE-long together" over the top.

Ms Kelly's Class made the First Class display. They drew around their hands and coloured them in. The hand prints were then cut out and arranged into a flower display with the caption; "We are all unique but together we are a masterpiece".

Finally the Second Class noticeboard was decorated by Ms Fagan's Class who made hot are balloons from coloured card and used the slogan "We aim high" over the top.

Flags for School Initiatiave 2015/2016

Today was a very proud one for us all here at S.S Peter and Paul J.N.S. as we celebrated the arrival of two members from the Defence Force. Julia Grattan, Lorcan Roche and Sam Jackson were presented with the Irish flag and a copy of the 1916 Proclamation on behalf of the school.
Julia's 5 minute notice to read a section of the Proclamation along with Lieutenant Martin McMahon and Corporal  Brian Geraghty did not phase her one bit and she left us all in awe of her talent and poise.
We were entertained with some lively Irish dancing from Iveta Balakanskaite and Robert Downes which got our feet tapping and hands clapping.
Ms Ní Mhaonaigh's 2nd class stood proud and tall as their voices swelled with the tune of Amhrán na bhFiann.
Julia, Lorcan and Sam further showed what they are made of when they each read a short piece to us.
To each and every child in our school-well done and thank you for our wonderful behaviour and attention. It was wonderful having our whole school together, along with parents, members of the Board of Management and Lieutenant Martin McMahon and Corporal Brian Geraghty to celebrate today.

Commemoration flag

The defence forces will visit our school at 11.30am today to present the commemoration flag. All parents welcomed.

An important message from the Parish Office

In the next few weeks, parents/guardians who wish to present their child to prepare for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion will be asked for their child's Catholic Baptismal certificate. Now is a good time to obtain that certificate from the Catholic Church where your child was baptised if you haven't already got a copy. Only those who have been baptised in the Roman Cathoilc Church may be presented for these Sacraments.
