Planting Wildflowers

SS Peter and Paul JNS is located in the middle of  Balbriggan town, so we don't have many opportunities to see wildflowers growing in fields or explore flora or fauna life around us. Therefore we thought it would be a good idea to create a Bio-diversity space in school where the children could watch wildflowers grow and hopefully see lots of insect life, such as bees and butterflies, around this area.

Hence the Student Council have planted "seed bombs" in our Bio-diversity space. These small balls of soil contain lots of little seeds such as Corn Marigold, Red Clover, Yellow Rattle and Ragged Robin. We can't wait to see them start to peep up over the ground over the next few weeks and we will then investigate all the different flower and insect species in class.
