World Book Day 2016
In spite of a hectically busy week, we had a fantastic World
Book Day here at SS Peter and Paul JNS! The whole school fell silent after little break, as the boys and girls stuck their noses firmly into their
favourite books for Drop Everything And Read. It was a real pleasure to walk
around the school class after class full of bent heads, as the children
engrossed themselves in their reading.
Some classes accepted the challenges of the on-line World
Book Day Quiz, whilst others got creative with our 1916 themed Story Writing
Competition. Our finalists are: Anna Guba (Room 6); Noah Lyons (Room 3); Jamie
Bullivant (Room 4); Matthew Stuart (Room2); and Isabella Gaughan (Room 10). Our
overall winner will be declared at the end of the week, so watch this space!
But undoubtedly the highlight of World Book Day was the
sight of so many of the children dressed up in wonderful costumes as their
favourite book characters. Many thanks to the family members who clearly put in
so much work on these! It was extremely difficult for the teachers to choose a
winner from each class, and even more difficult for Mrs. Frayne, Mrs. Bouzzah,
Mrs. Adderly and Ms. UaConaill to choose the top three, but congratulations to:

Hood; Honzi Dobysek, as Asterix; Daniel Smith, as Mr. Bump; Wictoria Brys, as
Hedwig; and Amie McCafferty, as Betty O’Barley.
